A NEWLY-INDUCTED Sangguniang Kabataan
chairman in Catanduanes
drowned while crossing a creek in Pandan municipality over the weekend, police said yesterday.
The body of John Mark Vecina, SK chairman of Barangay Tokyo
in Pandan, was found in a rice field
hours after he went missing.
Police Regional Office 5 director Chief Supt
. Cecilio Calleja, Jr. said the victim and his mother, Mary Jane, were crossing the creek at Sitio Tarba when they were carried away by the strong current.
The elder Vecina was injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
