CAMP  NAKAR — The Southern Luzon Command (Solcom), in partnership  with the Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCCI) and the  military’s 2nd Civil Relations Group, has launched “Operation Tulong” to render  relief operations in the Bicol region after serious flooding  in the  provinces of Albay, Sorsogon, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte and Catanduanes.

Through a symbolic turn-over early yesterday, Dr. Roberto Licup representing the  FCCCI handed over to Solcom chief Lt. Gen. Roland Detabali the donated goods  composed of 400 boxes of noodles, 200 pairs of reading glasses and P10,000 to be distributed to almost 75,000 affected families.

“These relief goods will be distributed among the areas that include 17 municipalities of the region affected by the floods,” Solcom spokesman Col.  Generoso Bolina said.

“The recent floods has caused serious affectations especially  to the residents of Albay, Sorsogon and Camarines provinces in this area thus  posing millions of damages to agriculture, infrastructure and private properties,” he said.

Bolina said he recognized the importance of the  multi-stakeholders in giving services.
